Job Description: Laundry Assistants in Edinburgh, EH1
Kitchen Porters is looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join a busy
hospitality kitchen in York on a temporary basis with an ASAP start. This is a great opportunity
for candidates with catering or hospitality experience — or anyone keen to get started in a professional kitchen
environment — to pick up immediate, well-paid shifts.
As a Kitchen Porter you'll play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running smoothly during service, supporting the
chefs and wider catering team, and helping maintain the high standards of cleanliness and food safety expected in a
professional kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Washing pots, pans, crockery and kitchen equipment efficiently during service
Keeping kitchen surfaces, floors and equipment clean and sanitised
Assisting chefs with basic food preparation and stock rotation
Managing waste disposal and recycling in line with site procedures
Unloading deliveries and helping keep storage areas organised
Following all food hygiene, health and safety, and COSHH guidelines
What We're Looking For
Previous kitchen porter, dishwasher, or catering assistant experience is beneficial but not essential
A strong work ethic and ability to stay calm during busy service periods
Good teamwork and communication skills
Punctual, reliable, and able to work flexible shifts including evenings/weekends
Basic understanding of food hygiene standards (training can be provided)
