Position Summary

DMT Remodeling is seeking an experienced, dependable Painter to perform professional interior and exterior painting for residential and commercial remodeling projects throughout the Washington, DC/DMV area.

The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on painting experience, understands proper surface preparation and paint application techniques, pays close attention to detail, and consistently produces clean, professional-quality finishes.

Experience Requirement
• Minimum 5 years of professional painting experience required.
• Residential and/or commercial remodeling experience preferred.

Responsibilities
• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting.
• Properly protect floors, furniture, fixtures, windows, doors, and surrounding areas before beginning work.
• Patch holes, cracks, and surface imperfections.
• Sand, scrape, caulk, clean, and prime surfaces as necessary.
• Properly apply primer, paint, stains, sealers, and other coatings.
• Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment, as appropriate.
• Understand and follow proper application techniques to achieve even coverage and professional finishes.
• Cut in walls, ceilings, trim, doors, windows, and other detailed areas accurately.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, baseboards, cabinets, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Properly mix and match paints and coatings when required.
• Identify appropriate products, materials, and application methods for different surfaces.
• Perform necessary touch-ups and corrections before completing a project.
• Maintain tools, painting equipment, and work areas.
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional.
• Follow company safety procedures and job site requirements.
• Complete assigned projects according to established schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years of professional painting experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of proper paint preparation and application techniques.
• Experience with brushes, rollers, and paint sprayers.
• Knowledge of different paint finishes, primers, stains, coatings, and appropriate applications.
• Strong surface-preparation skills.
• Ability to produce clean lines and smooth, consistent finishes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remodeling crew.
• Ability to follow instructions and project specifications.
• Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and committed to quality workmanship.
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of painting and remodeling work, including standing, bending, climbing ladders, reaching, and lifting materials and equipment.

Driving Requirements

Candidates must:
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Have no DUI convictions.
• Have no motor vehicle accidents within the past 12 months.
• Be able to travel to residential and commercial job sites throughout the Washington, DC/DMV area.

Try-Out Period
• Selected candidates will be required to complete a three (3) day paid try-out period to evaluate painting skills, surface preparation, workmanship, attention to detail, reliability, and overall fit with the team.
